Capabilities

We devote a substantial amount of our practice to assisting management in the preservation of union-free work environments.  Our attorneys are available to assist long before union organizing begins (preferably, before it is even considered by employees), during organizing campaigns and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, The American Arbitration Associations, The Connecticut Board of Mediation and Arbitration and the courts.

Our service for union-free employers include, among others:

  • Developing and conducting management workshops on a variety of subjects from the hiring process to the termination process
  • Assisting in the preparation of employee handbooks, supervisory and personnel manuals, problem solving procedures, employee orientation programs and employer/employee communication programs
  • Providing on-site legal advice during periods of union organizing activity
  • Training supervisors to effectively counter union organizing by exercising management’s legal rights; and,
  • Representing employers in NLRB, AAA and court litigation with respect to representation issues, unfair labor practice charges, and unlawful union pressure tactics.
